The largest prize pool ever was announced by Bodog’s website, with the main tournament awarding $300,000 guaranteed. Total cash for the eight day Texas holdem tournament will be higher than $650,000, over the course of the weeklong poker tournament. The Bodog Poker tournament will begin Sunday, September 28th and continues until Sunday, October 5th. The popular poker tournament website will also feature six “Bounty” games, where the contestants can win $109 in tournament credits for each Team Bodog poker player they knock out of the poker contest. The biggest poker stars will be playing all rivals in the event.

Team Bodog champ, Justin Bonomo, is undeniably psyched about the Texas Hold em championship. Over the course of his poker playing career, the 23 year old has brought home over $1.4 million. He says that if you thought the first poker championship was a good one, you will definitely be stunned with this year’s poker contest and the prize money involved. He also challenges anyone that dares to eliminate him from the poker tournament to come forward.

The Kick off Bounty Tournament will be the first poker contest in the contest on Sunday. Any poker challenger has the ability to buy-In directly into this, and any of the other Texas Hold em games with cash. Or another option is to win their way into the Texas Hold em games through the satellites which are presented every night during the poker championship week. Bodog will feature six bounty tournaments and seven “Championship Events”, that will have higher buy-ins and deeper stacks.

Bodog’s contest will have thirteen events which will lead up to the main event on Sunday, October 5 at 4:00 p.m. E.S.T. This is the championship with a guaranteed $300,000 in cash, regardless of the total number of players in the championship. All the poker players who decide to enter the main poker tournament will have to shell out $500 for the buy-in and in exchange will receive 10,000 in poker chips.
