The 41st annual WSOP 2010 will close on Monday, July 5th with the $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Championship Main Event. Other variations slated for the World Series of Poker 2010 include a few new regulations that will regulate the daily amount of play, and the addition of more poker tables. According to the 2010 WSOP site, the whole convention center of the Rio Las Vegas will be dedicated to the WSOP 2010, with tournament tables in the 58,000 square foot Pavilion and the 38,000 square foot Amazon Room.

The World Series of Poker is also giving players more than five months to register for the first event on the World Series of Poker schedule. Pre-registration for the WSOP is offered at the Main Cage of the Rio and online at the World WSOP 2010 site. Registration for all bracelet poker events will stay open until the start of the third level (approximately 2 hours, 20 minutes after start time) or until all seats are sold.

“Whatever your game and whatever your bankroll, the 2010 WSOP schedule offers something for everyone. We are planning for the largest WSOP ever and look forward to welcoming all players to the Rio in Las Vegas next summer.” said WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel.

Poker is not just for The Greatest Poker Players in the World Anymore

Posted under poker & poker games & poker players & texas holdem

Texas Holdem’ was a game available only in Vegas Casinos or from electronic poker machines, but now it is more in style than ever in Vegas thanks to the the internet.

The well-known Venetian Hotel and Casino, is now banking on this popularity with its new audience-participation show called “The Real Deal!” in its Venetian Showroom, beginning in October.

This new idea will join comedy and game show elements to entertain its live audience. The audience will also be able to join in the popular game of Texas Holdem’ alongside the the best poker players in the world. Many prizes are available for the audience including a chance to win 1$ million.

In “The Real Deal!” the audience members will play with players like Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu. Around 10 of the world’s best poker players have already signed up for the game show. The audience will be able to play along with the 90 minute game thanks to handheld, wireless, touch screen devices located on each seat.

“People who take a vacation in Vegas want to play poker,” Negreanu says, “but obviously they can’t play in a big game with the players such as Doyle or Phil Hellmuth. But, in this show, they actually can.” At the beginning of each show, six audience members will be chosen to sit at the poker table on stage with two professional players. Each audience member is then involved in the action by being dealt a unique poker hand on their devices. Everyone in the showroom is then involved in the action with big-screen monitors located on stage.

The show’s producers say that you don’t have to be a pro poker player to take part in the game. There are other ways to build your point total, that doesn’t involve the game of poker necessarily. Betting on the suit of the next poker card or trying to guess which state a particular audience member is from, are just some of the ways to come out a champ in this game.

The show’s creators are also betting on the great personalities of the pro poker stars to have great moments. Someone like Scotty Nguyen, the flamboyant five-time winner of the World Series of Poker, definitely can keep an audience entertained and will provide some great entertainment in this new poker game show .
